Before the Labor Movement, the average American worked 12 hour days 7 days a week in unsafe and unsanitary conditions. Children were also forced to work for pennies or sometimes for nothing at all in unsafe conditions.

The Labor Movement of the 19th century changed our lives for the better.  Brave men and women put their livelihoods and often their very lives on the line to demand better working conditions for everyone. And they won.
