Ted Budd on Jan. 6: “It was nothing.”

Jan 05, 2022

Ahead of the one-year anniversary of the violent Jan. 6 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, American Bridge 21st Century today released a new video highlighting North Carolina U.S. Senate candidate and U.S. Rep. Ted Budd’s comments downplaying the violent attack on the Capitol as “nothing” and “just patriots standing up.”

WATCH:

During the runup to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, Budd — who is running with Trump’s endorsement — backed the discredited GOP lawsuit seeking to challenge and undermine the results of the 2020 election.

And even after the day of violence at the Capitol last January, Budd nevertheless set himself among the 147 congressional Republicans who voted to overturn the 2022 election.
