Most parents use child tax credit on food, bills and other necessities, survey finds

As the House prepares to vote this week on legislation that could extend President Biden’s expanded child tax credit, a new national survey shows that the benefit has reduced families’ financial stress and helped them afford necessities but Hispanic parents remain less likely to claim it than White and Black families.
